East Attic Sounds

Emerging from lockdown, Australia’s funkiest Global Beats musos gather at Culture Hub for an unmissable pop-up party over two nights.

Forget international borders are closed and traverse the exotic bazaars of the far east with the very best in Indian infused global music.

Celebrating the Hub’s exhibition of local Punjabi culture and history, this live concert series blends traditional Indian instruments and live electronica with a good dose of funk and whole lot of magic.

Circle of Rhythm

Heralded as Australia’s most exciting rhythm trio, Greg Sheehan, Bobby Singh and Ben Walsh between them have changed the face of percussion in Australia.

After decades defining and redefining what  Australian drumming could offer the world individually, they formed a percussion trio rich in culture from styles they’ve studied from around the globe.

From the high energy, fast-paced drumming styles of Japan and Polynesia, to the ethereal and spiritually uplifting sounds of India, this ensemble boasts a full spectrum of styles and instrumentation that will delight your senses.

Their show is an homage to multicultural Australia, borrowing rhythms and melding a collection of drum styles, both unique and rich in ancient tradition.

Indo Jazz Fusion Ensemble

Featuring the sultry vocals of Sarah Hyland alongside Greg Sheehan, Bobby Singh and the best Jazz musos in the area, this ensemble explores the close connection between Indian rhythms and Jazz music.

From packed-house performances at New York Greenwich Village’s legendary The Bitter End, to Sydney’s Palmer & Co, Hyland has been described as Betty Boop meets Billie Holiday.

Together this ensemble will make a deep dive exploration into Jazz music’s cross- over with North Indian classical music, and the influence of the far east on full repertoire of Jazz.

So get excited and grab your ticket for this major league, one-off treat for lovers of music, art and culture!
